BRIDGETOWN, Barbados - The seventh-eighth place playoff match between Trinidad & Tobago and the Netherlands Antilles was halted due to a heavy storm on Tuesday evening at the Sir Garfield Sobers Sports Complex here.

The match was suspended, 10 minutes after half-time, when the Netherlands Antilles were leading 2-1 and will be resumed on Wednesday at 9am.

Meanwhile, the fifth-sixth place playoff match between Chile and Barbados will take place at 10.30am, with the third place playoff - between Canada and Uruguay - and the Argentina-US final match- remaining at the originally scheduled time, 4.30pm and 7pm.

Trinidad & Tobago - Netherlands Antilles

Favouring for the slow pitch due to a heavy tropical rain, the Netherlands Antilles netted their first goals of the tournament to take a 2-1 lead in the first half.

Trinidad & Tobago had opened the score, in the 13th minute, through Nicole Dixon-Aming. Few minutes later, the match was suspended due to the heavy rain.

When play resumes, Netherlands Antilles� Daphne Mulder rushed through the center of the field and dribbling past a defender she netted the equalizer, their first goal of the tournament, in the 17th minute.

Motivated by this, they managed to score their second goal to take a 2-1 lead by Maaika Thies, two minutes from half-time.

After 10 minutes of the second half, the match was halted due to a severe storm.
