CHILE TAKE VICTORY IN STRUGGLING MATCH

The Chilean national team deservedly defeated Uruguay 2-0 in the first match of the fourth day of the women�s tournament in the 8th South American Games (ODESUR) at the Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires on Sunday.

Chile appeared best organized and calm from the start, thus they opened the score � in the seventh minute � through Daniela Caram, who netted from a superb reverse shot.

From then on, Uruguay evened play, creating good chances in front of their rival goal, but failed to net.

Uruguay attacked from the very start after half-time, pushing Chile towards their circle, but could not break their rival back row, crashing also against their own inaccuracy.

Meanwhile, Chile took advantage from the counter-attack, and just three minutes into the second half, they increased the lead to 2-0 from a penalty corner by Michelle Wilson.

OVERWHELMING CHILEAN VICTORY

Chile demolished Peru 10-0 in the second match of the fourth day of the men�s tournament in the 8th South American Games (ODESUR) on Sunday at the Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires.

Though Chile were superior throughout the first half, Peru opposed a clever tactic with good marking in midfield and a superb physical display. Then, Chile had to struggle to open the score due to a good task by their back row and keeper Gianni Delucchi.

Thus, they opened the store, in the 13th minute, through a penalty corner by Esteban Krainz, to increase the gap � three minutes later � with a weak shot by Gabriel Thierman. In the 28th, Krainz converted again for the 3-0 lead and Pablo Khulenthal sealed the first half, in the 33th minute.

After half-time, Peru fully succumbed to the Chilean pressure, which improved in attack, completing with six goals an overwhelming victory.

The goals were netted by Khulenthal, in the 41st; Raimundo Valenzuela, in the 43rd; Krainz, in the 46th; Thomas Kannegisser, in the 53rd and 57th minutes and Heiko Heinze, in the 62nd.

ARGENTINA TROUNCE BRAZIL 15-0, CLOSE TO FINAL

The men�s Argentine team demolished Brazil 15-0 in the last match of the fourth day of the 8th South American (ODESUR) Games at the Club Ciudad de Buenos Aires on Sunday.

Though Argentina kept the pace from the very begining, Brazil showed their improvement in their play and moves. Thus, Brazil produced some counterattacks, reaching a penalty corner with one of them, but without consequences.

Argentina went to the break leading 5-0 with goals from Lucas Argento, in the first minute; Lucas Rossi, in the fourth; Tom�s Argento, two minutes later; Germ�n Orozco from a penalty stroke, in the 26th, and Marco Riccardi, in the 33rd.

But the local team prevented Brazil to reach, overcaming them throughout the field to net 10 more.

The goals were netted by Lucas Cammareri, in the 37th, 49th (penalty stroke) and 65th minutes; Orozco from a penalty stroke, in the 38th; Lucas Argento, in the 40th; Juan Manuel Saladino, in the 41st and 63rd minutes; Agust�n Corradini, in the 50th; Rodrigo Saliva, in the 52nd minute and Lucas Rossi, nine minutes from the final.

�These matches are good to transfer several things were are training, with a new group which have some new players without international experience, and I believe that we will continue growing until reaching the decisive matches�, said Argentine Juan Manuel Vivaldi, who was the keeper in Germany�s World Cup.

Vivaldi also talked about Brazil: �I had played against Brazil, two years ago, at the America Cup, and I see that the boys have notably improved. They played better with the ball and have also improved their individual technique, but this is a long process.�
