A very exciting match for today's third place final between Canada and Chile. Although Canada was a favorite to win this game, Chile came out with the win after holding on to Canada's attacks.

Canadians started very well going back and forth with good plays unfortunately Chile opened the score at minute 17 when they stole the ball from its opponent and went all the way through Canadians goalkeeper and scoring a goal by player #18, Ignacio CONTARDO. This took Canada by surprise and at minute 22 Chile scored another goal in a penalty corner by player #11, Matias KOESTER.

Canada replied at minute 29 in a penalty corner with a nice shot by player #24, Gordon JOHNSTON. The first half ended with a one goal advantage for Chile and Canada had to re-establish its plays to recover from this.

For the second half, surprisingly enough, Chile scored once again at minute 44 in a penalty corner by its captain #6, Vicente MARTIN and later on at minute 52. With this Chile were three goals over Canada, but the Canadians didn't surrender and continued to go forward having very close calls over Chile's goalkeeper. With just about two minutes on the clock, Chile was awarded a penalty stroke which was asserted by player#5, Pablo PURCELL. At the end the joy of winning remained at hands of Chile with a score of 5-1.

(Final) Argentina - USA : 2 - 1

Argentina, favorite to win the 2010 Youth Panamerican Championship, entered the pitch strong as usual but they encountered a strong USA as well. For 35 minutes both teams tried over and over again to score, until the very last minute of the first half which ended in a tie with no goals.

The second half was even more tough as Argentina as in earlier games scored early at the beginning, this time at minute 43 by player #12, Manuel SACHETTI in a very nice play. Later on, USA had their chance and took it well in a penalty corner at minute 62 with player #8, Kundi RANVEER to tie the game 1-1.

Argentinians replied seven minutes later with a small dive by player #18, Felipe SUEIRO over USA's goalie at minute 69 and breaking the tie with a score 2-1. With just about a minute of time left in the game, USA couldn't find another goal and finally Argentina conquered the tournament's first place.
