(7-8) Bermuda - Paraguay : 1 - 1 (ps: 1-4)

Bermuda and Paraguay teams opened the last day of the Pan-American Youth Tournament at the Carrasco Polo Club. The girls from Paraguay managed to get the seventh place in the tournament after winning the penalty row 4-1.

The first half started with early emotions after Paraguay�s goal a few minutes from the start. Bermuda worked hard and could reach the 1-1 only five minutes before the break.

The second half continued at a speedy pace but none of the teams was able to score.

The game turned very balanced and this forced the definition at the supplementary time. (This is, two halves, 7.30 minutes each defined by golden goal or penalty strokes). None of the teams was able to score at the extra time either, and this lead them to penalty stroke definition. Paraguay won 4-1 leaving Bermuda in the last place of the tournament.

(5-6) Mexico - Uruguay : 0 - 3

The second match of the day was between Uruguay and Mexico. The host country played their last game of the tournament with great support of their fans. The Uruguayan girls won 3-0.

Uruguay came to the pitch with the conviction of a fifth position in the tournament. Eight minutes from the start Sophie Latour made an excellent definition in the area giving the lead to the locals, and scored again before the break.

The Uruguayans made a good job at blocking the rival, who reached the Uruguayan area several times, without being able to score. Mexico showed weakness at definition.

The second half became a Uruguayan monologue; with the team running forward, with a good number of opportunities that were not always able to capitalize but with enough difference in the score to control the game.

(3-4) Chile - USA : 1 - 7

Teams from USA and Chile played an extremely important match for the third and fourth position in the Tournament. US won 7-1 and obtained the bronze medal.

USA showed an excellent hockey and Chile could not manage to avoid the constant blocking from the Americans. After two very good performances of penalty corners the Americans lead 2-0 early in the first half. USA gained the domain of the game and went to the break leading 4-0.

Chile came to the second half with a strong pace with the intention to open the score, but found a solid American defense. With great effort the Chileans managed to net a penalty corner.

USA remained concentrated and did not allow Chile to react. It was a great match where the Americans proved to deserve the Bronze Medal.

(Final) Canada - Argentina : 1 - 6

The Finals of the Pan American Youth Tournament started at 4.35 at the Carrasco Polo Club with the stands full of hockey fans. This Tournament qualifies for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore. Argentina defeated Canada 6-1.

The first half was favorable to Argentina, who has showed the best performance throughout the Tournament. The Argentineans achieved the gold winning all matches in the Tournament.

Argentina was the first to score but a quick reaction from Canada put the scorer 1-1 after a well performed penalty corner. Canadian goal seemed to encourage the Argentineans to drive a savage attack, and lead them to the break with a 5-1.

The second half looked more balanced, Argentina got the control of the ball and could have scored more than once but the Canadians have improved their defense and blocked the Argentineans attack. Canada tried to attack but was overwhelmed by the dangerous Argentinean team. One more goal for the Argentinean gave them a difference of five and the gold. Congratulations Argentina!
